Handel’s Messiah 2019
30 November 2019
This year’s Handel’s Messiah was once again an exhilarating and joyous affair. A full Galway Cathedral enjoyed the night’s festivities, featuring the glorious Irish Baroque Orchestra coupled along with the stunning voices of the Sestina choir.
They were joined by a world class line-up of soloists: Emma Morwood (soprano), Rachel Kelly (mezzo soprano), Anthony Gregory (tenor) and Edward Grint (bass), under the baton of IBO Artistic Director Peter Whelan.
Through the iconic ‘For Unto us a Child is Born’ to the unforgettable ‘Hallelujah’, the audience enjoyed the seasonal sounds and scenes in an ideal stage setting.
Once again, Handel’s Messiah concludes our 2019 concert season and leads us into the new year.
January 2020 of course brings us another celebration, Midwinter Festival BEETHOVEN.
