LUCIANO BERIO | Naturale |
This programme, based around Luciano Berio’s Naturale, is a world of hypnotic sounds, street vendor songs, yearning melodies, and joyous dances. Berio’s work uses Sicilian folk music as its inspiration, and is a reflection on the joys, and often harsh realisms of life. TOTEMIC by Ian Wilson is a new perspective on the Irish folk idiom, and a contrast to the gamelan sounds of One Thing I Know by Benedict Schlepper-Connolly. This concert will include the premiere of Crucible by the Dutch-based Australian composer Kate Moore whose works are engaged with what lies beneath the surface.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable.
