Each year we celebrate the legacy of the extraordinary Galwegian Emily Anderson with a concert of music by either Mozart or Beethoven. This year with this concert we embark on a momentous journey. It is the first instalment of a performance of Beethoven’s complete string quartets which will be completed during the Midwinter Festival in January. This evening, as a taster, we hear one quartet from each of Beethoven’s compositional periods – early, middle and late – performed by Galway’s remarkable quartet-in-residence, the ConTempo Quartet and presented in association with MusicConnects.
