Elégie: Rachmaninov – A Heart in Exile
Scripted by Lucy Parham

Lucy Parham, piano
Simon Russel Beale, narrator

In the year of his 150th anniversary, Elégie tells Rachmaninov’s extraordinary story with both music and words. Vividly evoking his early life in Russia and subsequently in exile are his best-loved works for solo piano, as well as pieces by Scriabin and Tchaikovsky, all interspersed with readings from his letters and diaries.
