Galway audiences will recall MfG’s 2022 Midwinter Festival dedicated to the Dublin composer Sir Charles Villiers Stanford and his extraordinary legacy as composer and professor of composition. This year we mark the centenary of the composer’s death with a concert dedicated to music by the composers who influenced him (Brahms and Schumann), the composers who followed him (Rebecca Clarke and Muriel Herbert) and music by Stanford himself.
