The outstanding German cellist Alban Gerhardt will interpret Shostakovich’s momentous Second Cello Concerto and we will also hear the world premiere of a brand-new concerto by Djuro Zivkovic for cello, piano and orchestra, performed by Swedish cellist Jakob Koranyi and our very own artistic director Finghin Collins. Former President of Ireland and Chair of the Elders Mary Robinson will give an address on climate justice while conductor Gavin Maloney will wrap up proceedings with Mendelssohn’s “Calm Seas and Prosperous Voyage”.
