Pianist and multiple prize winner Daria van den Bercken makes herself heard on the world piano stage in inimitable ways. She plays repertoire from the entire spectrum of the 400-year-old piano repertoire, as a soloist in international concert halls, at major festivals and in chamber music.
Meanwhile, she has succeeded in finding new audiences for unknown music by composers such as George Frideric Handel, Domenico Scarlatti, C.P.E. Bach, Mathilde Wantenaar and Lili Boulanger in unique artistic projects. Her passion is to reach and entice as many people as possible, both classical music lovers and new audiences.
In 2016, she founded the Keys to Music Foundation through which she aims to reach new audiences for classical music through artistic and educational projects which won many accolades. The latest project is the Piano Biennale, an international piano and music festival in the Netherlands, that despite the corona epidemic, has had its first online edition in 2021. It is the first piano festival worldwide in which different art forms collaborate in unique productions with the piano at its core. The first edition with an audience, themed “FREE THE PIANO” about ground-breaking moments in piano music, was held in April 2023. Audiences and press alike praised it with 5-star reviews.
Daria tours Europe with flamenco dancer Israel Galvan, has millions of listeners for her solo Händel, Mozart and Scarlatti albums for SONY and Doorway Music, enjoys public speaking and performed a TED Talk which went viral, and in her spare time writes opinion pieces on the state of culture and cultural education in the Netherlands.
