St Nicholas Singers Brahms Requiem

The St Nicholas' Singers are one of the five ensembles that comprise St. Nicholas' Schola Cantorum, based in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church at the heart of Galway city. The ensemble is a large all-comers group of up to one hundred voices, welcoming singers of all abilities and backgrounds. Participants enjoy the chance to sing some of the finest works from the church’s heritage of choral music, under the direction of one of Ireland’s leading choral directors, Mark Duley, and in the special environment of Ireland’s largest medieval parish church. The choir prepares its performances usually over two weekends of intensive rehearsals. The fact that so many people come back year after year to participate speaks (sings) to the power of choral singing to foster close bonds with others in a uniquely communal shared experience. Membership is open to all regardless of experience, and new members are always welcome.
