ARTIST PROFILE:
Margarita Guerrero Martínez

Born in Murcia, Spain, in 2005, Margarita finished her professional studies of music, obtaining highest honors in cello in the six courses of these professional teachings.

She has received Masterclasses from eminent international teachers and soloists such as: Xavier Gagnepain, Asier Polo, Pablo Ferrández, Fernando Arias, Kian Soltani, W.E. Schimtz, Jens Peter Maintz.

She has participated in numerous Festivals and International Courses such as:

Cellissimo 2024 held in Galway (Ireland) where she received master classes from Professors Alban Gerhardt, Nicolas Alstaedt, Camille Thomas, and Jakob Koranyi.  She is the current ambassador of this Festival.

Isa 21 (Vienna 2021) receiving lessons from professors Jérôme Pernoo, Miklós Perény and Xenia Jankovic. International Festival of Rutesheim (Germany 2021) ; Festival “Schloss Academy” (Vienna 2022) ; MusicAlta training course (Paris 2022); Corso de Alto Perfezionamento Musicale” Parma (Italy); International Course “Carl Flesch Akademie” Baden Baden (Germany 2022) International Course Voksenasen (August 2022- Norway)

In July 2022 she performed Haydn's D major concerto with the Parma Symphony Orchestra (Italy). She has also performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena, the Symphony Orchestra “Jóvenes Solistas” of Murcia and the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia.

In May 2024 she was selected to participate in the Cellissimo 2024 Festival held in Galway (Ireland). After reaching the final of the competition, she was chosen to be the ambassador of “Cellissimo”, a position she will hold for the next three years.

In April 2024 and 2025, she won by competition one of the four scholarships that the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock (Germany).

She has participated in different national and international competitions obtaining different awards such as:

Second prize of the XVI International Competition Jan Vychytil. Prague 2022

Finalist Second International Cello Competition Milan 2025

Winner and Ambassador of the contest Cellisimo 2024 Galway (Ireland) 2024.

First Prize in the “Jóvenes Intérpretes Villa de Molina 2022 and 2021” Competition.

Second Prize at the National Competition “Intercentros Melómano”. Alicante 2021

Finalist at the IX International Popper Competition for young soloists. Budapest 2021

The Accésit to the best interpretation in The IX National Competition of Young Promises of “Violoncello Jaime Dobato Benavente”, Teruel 2018.
