David Kennedy
Irish baritone David Kennedy, from east Galway, is fascinated with the world of music and dedicated to his continued development as an artist. He is an Irish National Opera Studio member for the 2024/26 seasons, highlights include covering the roles of Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) and Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus). He is a Wexford Festival Opera Factory Member for the 2024/26 seasons, performing various roles in this time highlights include ‘Silvio’ (Pagliacci) and ‘Don Alvaro’ (Il viaggio a Reims). David is the f irst Irish scholar at the Heidelberger Frühling LiedAkademie, studying under Thomas Hampson in 2022/24 seasons. He also trained at the prestigious Britten-Pears YAP programme 2025, supported by the H Steven and PE Wood Bursary, and with the international LIEDBasel festival in 2024. Concert highlights include performing at Berlin's Pierre Boulez Saal with Susan Mano during Schubert Week 2024. David was a semi-finalist at the recent Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition in 2024. He has received mentorship from esteemed colleagues such as Thomas Hampson, Ian Bostridge, Roderick Williams, Simon Keenlyside, Isabel Leonard, Susan Mano , Julius Drake, and Malcom Martineau.
