Praised for his “intense expressivity” and “bold, fiery technique” (The New York Times), German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott performs Elgar’s deeply expressive Cello Concerto, a work of poignant beauty and reflection. Framed by Sibelius’s powerful and dramatic Seventh Symphony, the Irish premiere of Jessie Montgomery’s Overture, and Grieg’s evocative Peer Gynt suite, this programme highlights a rich palette of orchestral colour, showcasing the orchestra’s expressive range under the baton of Anna Rakitina.
