ARTIST PROFILE:
Heather Sammon
Heather Sammon is a mezzo-soprano from Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare. She has just recently appeared in the Wexford Festival Opera, performing the role of the Friend of the Infanta in Zemlinsky’s The Dwarf. In the upcoming season with the Irish National Opera Studio, she will perform as The Dog and The Innkeeper’s Wife in The Cunning Little Vixen, and will also cover the role of Adalgisa in their production of Norma. Last season, Heather was a member of the Opera Studio at Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège in Belgium, where she studied under the renowned soprano Patrizia Ciofi. During her time there, she made her stage debut as Roussette in Marco Taralli’s Le Château Enchanté and as Hedwige in Petit Guillaume, an adaptation of Guillaume Tell. Prior to her international work, she performed professionally with Irish National Opera, where she was a member of the resident chorus from 2022 to 2024.
