Vespera

Vespera, Galway’s baroque ensemble, is dedicated to historically informed performance.  Vespera made its debut performing Abendmusik concerts at St Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick, with Peter Barley’s Sagittarius Hiberniensis Choir and St Mary’s Cathedral Choir, and at St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, Galway, with the choristers of St Nicholas’ Schola Cantorum, in late November 2021.

Vespera is led by baroque violinist Claire Duff, encompasses the ConTempo Quartet musicians and is artistically directed by Mark Duley. Under the tutelage of Claire Duff of the Irish Baroque Orchestra, Vespera performs with historic instrument bows which facilitate a particular kind of phrasing.
