ARTIST PROFILE:
Diarmuid Armstrong Mayock

I am a dance artist, teacher and choreographer from the northwest of Ireland, graduating in 2021 from Fontys Dance Academy in the Netherlands. Coming from a family of musicians, I grew up playing a lot of music, but branched into dance after finishing school. I now work full time as a professional dancer with companies such as Irish modern dance theatre, Attic projects, Liz Roach company, Cois Ceim, Catherine young company and Oona Doherty works.

I am the director/choreographer of “Crooked thinking”, a dance theatre company based between Leitrim and Galway, Ireland. We recently Premiered our first show “Texture like Sun” at Dublin Fringe 2023 and am currently working towards my next Piece “Sated” which is in the research stages of Development. Along with this I am also developing a new show separate from Crooked thinking, in collaboration with Bob Kelly, called “Barbarians”. We did our first work in progress showing of the work this year at Cairde Festival.
