Gemma Ni Bhriain

After graduating from the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she studied with Dr. Veronica Dunne, Gemma Ni Bhriain went on to be a member of the prestigious Atelier Lyrique Opera Studio at Opéra National de Paris, followed by two years at the International Opernstudio at Opernhaus Zürich, Switzerland.

She has performed various roles in some of the world’s leading opera houses including; Enrichetta di Francia (I Puritani) at Opéra Bastille, Le Pâtre (L’Enfant et les Sortilèges) at Opéra Garnier, Alisa (Lucia di Lammermoor) at Opernhaus Zürich and Anna (Maria Stuarda) at the National Opera House Wexford.

Gemma has performed on several occasions with INO in productions such as The Tales of Hoffmann, GLOACH, Paper Boat, Così fan tutte and most recently Vivaldi’s L’Olimpiade in a co-production with the Royal Opera House, London and Nouvelle Opéra Fribourg.

In 2021 Gemma co-founded a new chamber ensemble, Trio Cantare, with pianist Cahal Masterson and cellist Yseult Cooper-Stockdale. Their debut recital was part of the Drogheda Classical Music Festival in October 2021, and was later broadcast on RTÉ Lyric FM.
