THE COMPLETE NOCTURNES BY CHOPIN

We are delighted that British/Australian pianist Piers Lane will replace the indisposed Anne-Marie McDermott at short notice.  Piers will perform the Complete Nocturnes of Frederic Chopin, among the most beautiful – and most famous – music written for piano.  Influenced initially by the Irish composer John Field, Chopin went on to develop the Nocturne into a sophisticated and emotionally charged utterance. 

The 21 Nocturnes chart Chopin’s development – and thus the development of the nocturne – across almost twenty years, providing a fascinating insight into the evolution of one of the most fertile minds of the nineteenth century. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear these works performed in one concert.
